Oregon Tech Soccer Set to Host Southern Oregon Saturday

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -  The Oregon Tech men's and women's soccer teams are coming into the final two weekends of the 2017 season as both are looking at a playoff run.
 
The playoff push starts Saturday as both teams host Southern Oregon University on the OIT Soccer Pitch with the women starting at 12:00 pm followed by the men at 2:00 pm.
 
The Oregon Tech men, who made an appearance in the CCC tournament for the first time in program history in 2016 as the 8th seed, are currently sitting at 5-4-1 in conference play, good enough to be tied at 4th place, with three games to go in regular season action.  The CCC postseason will include the top 8 teams in the conference.
 
The men returned four All-CCC players from the 2016 roster and added senior redshirt and team captain Colton Grytness back in the lineup after he sat the 2016 season. Tech is led on the pitch in scoring by Junior Forward Trinidad Flores and Junior Transfer Kelly Kyllo each with 4 goals apiece. Sophomore Midfielder Brennan Gazdikleads the team in assists with 5, putting him second in the conference for assists on the season.
 
The Oregon Tech women, having picked up 2 wins and 2 ties in the 2016 campaign, have come back stronger in 2017. They currently sit with a CCC record of 5-3, good enough for them to be tied for 3rd place and poised to return to the CCC tournament.
 
The Owls offense is led by All-CCC Junior Forward Cassidy Gosvener with 6 goals and 1 assist on the season. Senior goalkeeper and team captain, Megan Green, has posted 4 shutout victories on the season so far.
 
Next weekend both teams will host Carroll College Friday and University of Providence to close out the regular season on Saturday, Senior Day.
 
The CCC tournament will be hosted by Northwest Christian University at Willamalane in Springfield, Ore. starting with the quarterfinal rounds on November 3.  Winners will advance to the semifinals on November 4, with the CCC championship match set for November 6.
