“Somedays I wanted to give up.” said one of our participants. Hunger is painful, debilitating, affecting health, education, behavior, and lives. Unless you are hungry, you will never know how it feels. Hunger is real. Fatigue, aches, dizziness, nausea, and emptiness are prevalent with hunger. Hunger does not discriminate. Hunger knows no race, religion, age or gender. Hunger is everywhere: developing countries, major cities, rural areas -- everywhere. Henley High School’s goal: ending hunger in Klamath Falls.

 Kingsley Field Firefighter Claims Triathlon Title in First Klamath Falls Adventure Race

Klamath Falls, OR. — Nearly 50 triathletes competed in a new adventure race held Saturday morning at Veterans Park in Klamath Falls, which included nearly 10.5 miles of competition. Clocking an impressive time of one hour, seven minutes and 14 seconds, local Kingsley Field firefighter, Derek Sherrell, won the overall race, coming in nine minutes before the next individual racer.

Klamath Falls, Ore. - The Klamath County Economic Development Association (KCEDA) recently held a board of directors meeting to discuss upcoming Ballot Measure 18-112, where at the meeting, many local employers that serve on the board would examine the economic benefits and dangers of legalizing the commercialization of marijuana within the city limits of Klamath Falls. Part of the meeting was designated to take a vote on whether to approve a proposed resolution that was introduced prior to the meeting and prepared by a small group of KCEDA board members.

The Mazama High School senior and third-year German language student won the yodeling contest last week during the school’s annual OktoberFest celebration.

More than 100 German language students and their teacher, Kathleen Todd, took over the school’s courtyard, turning it into a German party complete with bratswurst, sauerkraut, and pretzels as well as games, singing and contests. Many of the students dressed in traditional German festival clothing. For boys, the costume is called a lederhosen – leather shorts, suspenders and hats; for girls, the dress is called a dirndl.
