VANCOUVER, BC – After losing the first three games in the series by a total of just four-runs (two games in extra innings), Oregon Tech (4-11 NAIA-West, 12-22) lost the final game of the series by the score of 13-2 as UBC (8-7 NAIA-West, 14-17) finished off the series sweep Sunday afternoon at Thunderbird Park.

Game 1 UBC 5 OIT 4 (10 innings)

Down 3-0 in the top of the fifth, the Owls cut into the T-Birds' lead thanks to an Alex Poltz RBI single. Bradwell issued his third walk to load the bases with one out and then hit his third batter of the inning to bring Oregon Tech's second run across the plate while leaving the bases loaded. Austin Florezthen hit a sacrifice fly to right tying the game at three before starter James Bradwell got Justin Jordan to pop out to prevent any further damage.

UBC went back in front with a John Whaley leadoff home run in the bottom of the sixth, his third long ball of the season.

The Hustlin' Owls tied the game at four in the top of the seventh on a Poltz RBI double.

Braeden Allemann made his first mound appearance of the weekend for the 'Birds to start the eighth, replacing Bradwell who allowed four runs on six hits through seven complete innings while striking out six for the no decision. Allemann held the Owls off the board in his two innings of work to keep the game tied at four headed to the bottom of the ninth and ended up picking up the win, his first of the season.

After a scoreless 10th, Anthony Olson earned a leadoff walk in the 11th for UBC. Kyle McComb laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Olson to second. Lanferman then drove in the walk off single to center field as the 'Birds took it 5-4 for a third straight win while clinching their first series win of the season.

Game 2 UBC 13 OIT 2 (7-Innings)

UBC took control early with 8-runs in the second inning and added three more in the third to jump out to an 11-0 lead.

Oregon Tech was able to cut into the lead with a two-run double by Austin Zavala in the top of the fifth. With one down, Christian Botnik entered the game for Duffield who went 4.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

Lanferman tripled to the left-center wall in the bottom of the sixth, driving home Lichel Hirakawa-Kao followed by a Butler RBI single that made it a 13-2 UBC lead. After holding the Owls off the scoreboard in the top of the seventh, the 'Birds hit the mercy rule with the 11 run differential completing the series sweep.

After starting the season with 33 games on the road, OIT will finally return to the friendly confines of Historic Kiger Stadium for its home opener this Friday and Saturday when they host Conference rival Corban University for a four game series. First pitch for Friday's doubleheader is noon; Saturday's twin bill will start at 11:00 am.
