Hustlin’ Owls Struggle on the First Day of the NAIA Men’s Golf Championships

SILVIS, Ill. – The Oregon Tech men's golf team struggled on the opening round of the NAIA Men's Golf Championships as they currently sit in 27th place at TPC Deere Run Tuesday.
 
As a team OIT was +29 over par Tyler Franke and Mayson Tibbs each fired a +6 (77) to lead the Owls. Houston Knox was a right behind with +7 (78) followed by Nate Hunter+10 (81), and Kyle Wolf +12 (83).
 
"We are disappointed with how we played today," said head coach Jeff Corkill. "But with 2 rounds to go before the cut we are motivated to move up the leaderboard.
 
Oregon Tech won't have to wait long to try and improve their standing as they have a 6:40 (Pacific) tee time on Wednesday.
