Klamath County to offer Economic Development Grant Program

Klamath County has established an Economic Development Grant Program to assist local businesses in promoting the local economy in Klamath County. Economic Development Grants are for regional businesses looking for startup or expansion funds in Klamath County.

The Board of Commissioners look for projects that offer special or unique opportunities. Projects should identify a target market and offer a specific strategy for reaching this market. Funding for the Economic Development Grant Program comes from the Amusement Device Tax that is administered and distributed by the State of Oregon.

Grant applications are reviewed and recommendations made by a seven-member advisory committee appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The advisory committee recommends applications and funding levels to the Board of Commissioners who will then make the final decision for awarding funds.

The grant application cycle is open from September 1 to September 30, 2018. All applicants must attend a grant orientation meeting September 12, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in room 214 at the Klamath County Government Center, and submit a complete application no later than September 30, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The Economic Development Advisory Committee will be reviewing the applications and making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners following that submission deadline.

Information regarding the grant program is available on the county website http://www.klamathcounty.org/207/Economic-Development-Grant-Program
