Lady Owls Fall to Geoducks

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The Evergreen State College (5-2 overall, 3-0 CCC) shot 18-for-19 from the free throw line Friday night on the way to a 73-63 Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball victory over the Oregon Tech Owls (7-6, 0-3) inside Costantino Recreation Center.

The Geoducks, who won for the fifth straight time, got 18 points from Alexcis Higginbotham and 13 points each from Jahpera McEachin, Cayla Jones and Deidra Miller.

Nohea Waiwaiole scored 13 points and Megan Morris added 11 for the Owls in the loss.

Tech took an early 25-18 lead after the first period but were outscored 55-38 through the final three quarters.

TESC shot a remarkable 18-of-19 from the foul line while the Owls struggled making just 3-of-8.

The rest of the game was played pretty even as each team had 14 turnovers and 12 assists and 39 rebounds.

The Lady Owls will look to grab their first Cascade Conference win of the year at Northwest University on Saturday in Kirkland, Washington. Northwest lost to Southern Oregon Friday 71-52.
