Lady Owls Soar Past Warriors

SALEM, Ore. - Oregon Tech out-scored Corban 30-19 in the second on the way to 58-49 Cascade Conference win at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center Friday night. The Lady Owls improve to 6-4 in CCC play and 13-7 on the year with the Warriors falling to 5-5 in CCC play and 9-8 overall.
 
Corban took a 17-16 lead after the first quarter on 58% shooting from the floor.
 
The Tech defense then kicked-in only allowing 13-points, 7-points, and 12-points over the final three periods.
 
OIT out-scored the Warriors 11-7 in the 3rd quarter and 19-12 in the final stanza to win 58-49.
 
Junior Bailey Nelson led the Owls with 12-points with fellow junior Mikaela Shumaker adding 11-points and freshman Abby Kreiser chipping in 10-points including 7-8 at the foul line.
 
The Owls held a 42-38 advantage in rebounding for the game.
 
OIT will wrap-up the road trip in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday against Northwest Christian University at 5:30 pm before returning home for the 9th Annual Pink Out game on Saturday, January 20th at Danny Miles Court.
