The 2019-20 Winter Weather Alerts are brought to you by Ace Towing.

A cold front will bring moderate snow accumulations to the higher elevations of the Cascades tonight and Saturday. The heaviest snow will be above major pass level, but highways around Crater Lake National Park will be affected by snow accumulations.

Snow rates may exceed an inch an hour at times Saturday morning making for particularly hazardous travel.

Crater Lake National Park Road Closures
In lew of the upcoming winter storm, the North Entrance and Rim Drive have been closed until conditions improve. The South Entrance, Hwy 62, and the Road to Rim Village are still open. Chains or traction tires are required when posted.

Winter Weather Advisory

Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with locally up to 13 inches.

Location
South Central Oregon Cascades around Crater Lake National Park and mainly above 5500 feet.

When
From 11:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2019, to 5:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Additional Details
Travel could be very difficult, especially on portions of highways 62 and 138 above 5500 feet.

High Wind Advisory

West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

Location
In Oregon: Much of Lake County including all of highway 395 and portions of highways 140 and 31.

In California: Eastern portions of Modoc County including highways 395 north of Alturas and highway 299 east of Alturas.

When
From 8: 00 AM to 8: 00 PM PDT Saturday.

Impacts
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Additional Details
The strongest winds will be over the higher terrain during the morning, and then winds will descend into the valleys during the late morning and afternoon.
