Klamath Falls, Ore. – On the strength of 12 made 3-point attempts, the Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls defeated the Cal Maritime Keelhaulers by a score of 94-73, in a non-conference matchup on Danny Miles Court.

The first half started with the Owls flying. Freshman, Zach Bernards came out hot, shooting 4 of 4 from behind the 3-point stripe, while scoring 12 of the first 16 points for Tech. The early run saw the home team jump out to an 11-point lead before a timeout for the visitors was called. Coming off the break, the Keelhaulers would level out their play hitting a pair from downtown, but the Owls continued shooting at over 60% from the floor.

As the half wore on, there was little that could be done defensively by Cal Maritime, as Tech knocked down 8 of 14 from the 3-point line, and 62.5% from the floor for the 1sthalf.  At the break, the Owls lead 55-39 over the Keelhaulers.

The second half of play brought out a determined Cal Maritime team, as they battled to close the deficit. Despite a more spirited effort from the visitors, the Owls continued to stay hot from the floor, maintaining their double-digit lead. Both teams battled back and forth, and not until the final minute would the home team stretch the lead over 20 points. The game came to a conclusion with score 94 to 73.

The visiting Keelhaulers were led by their guards, Josh Hauser with 18 points and Phil Randles with 17 points each, with Hauser hitting 4 of 5 from the 3-point line.

The home Owls were led on the evening by Zach Bernards with 17 points, going 5 of 6 from the 3-point line, while Jalen Carvalho added 14 points and 5 assists.

The Owls will be back in action on Saturday, December 2, as they open up Cascade Collegiate Conference play against nationally ranked College of Idaho with a 6:00pm start on Danny Miles Court.
