Passenger Dies in Single Vehicle Crash on Icy 140

On Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at approximately 10:37pm, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to Hwy 140W near milepost 41 for a single vehicle rollover crash.

Investigation reveals that a 2006 Ford F250, operated by Andres Mares (19) of Klamath Falls, was traveling east on Hwy 140W when he lost control on the icy roadway. The vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and onto the west bound shoulder before rolling multiple times. 

Mares was transported to Sky Lakes Medical center for injuries.

There were three passengers in the Ford F250:

  • Angel Briones Cendejas (18) of Klamath Falls sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased while enroute to the hospital.

  • Heather Pizano (19) of Klamath Falls was transported to Sky Lakes Medical center for injuries.

  • Tatiana Cendejas (20) of Klamath Falls was transported to Sky Lakes Medical center for injuries.

OSP was assisted by ODOT, Rocky Point Fire District, and Klamath County Fire District One.
