Hikers Rescued from Mt. Thielsen

DIAMOND LAKE, Ore. - Two hikers were successfully rescued from Mt. Thielsen due to their level of preparedness.

On Friday, June 21, 2019, around 9:00 PM, dispatchers were notified that two SOS signals were being sent from Garmin inReach personal locator devices. Dispatchers were provided information regarding the two individuals who were registered with the devices.

Diamond Lake, Ore. - On Monday, June 17, 2019, at about 12:30 pm, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office was notified of a distress signal from a SPOT locator device. The location of the distress beacon was indicating an area of the Pacific Crest Trail on Mt.Thielsen.
