Wildfire Update: Sunna Fire

The Sunna Fire started around 1:00 PM, May 6, 2019. Agencies from the Oregon Department of Forestry, US Forest Service and multiple rural fire departments responded.

Crews were assisted by a Type III helicopter and were able to line the fire last night.

The 44 acres Sauna Fire is located approximately 5.5 miles northeast of Chiloquin, Oregon on ODF protected lands. Crews have spent the day moping up interior hot spots and re-enforcing containment lines and will remain on site for the next couple days.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
