Just before 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, a fire broke out in the 500 block of Adams Street in the Mills Neighborhood of Klamath Falls. The fire completely destroyed a duplex and seriously damaged a neighboring single-family residence. Also destroyed were a travel trailer, Chevrolet pick-up, and wood fence.

All occupants were able to evacuate the buildings. Although, pets remained unaccounted for at the time of this release.

The 2-alarm blaze required the issuance of a district ‘all-call’ by Klamath County Fire District 1.

“My boyrfriend yelled, ‘Call 911, the house is on fire!,” said home occupant Amy Allen. “I ran out, opened the door, and it was all engulfed in smoke.”

Allen continued, “That trailer is my sons senior project for high school and it is gone, I just hope my cat is ok, its still in there.”

“The cause of the fire is currently under investigation,” said KDFD1 Division Chief Matt Hitchcock. “It is too soon to tell what caused the fire.”

Hitchcock continues, “The primary search inside the homes was for human occupants, we found none.”
