Klamath Falls, OR – Long-time Klamath Falls resident Todd Andres filed his candidacy forms today for City Council, Ward 5, for November’s general election.

A first-time candidate for public office, Andres addressed the crowd waiting outside Klamath Falls City Hall Annex after submitting his candidacy forms to the Klamath Falls City Recorder, marking the official kick-off of his campaign.

“I am excited about this journey,” stated Andres. “A journey focused on listening to citizens, fully understanding the issues facing us, and positively promoting the community we all love.”

Andres’ priorities include supporting local quality-of-life investments, economic growth for both new and existing businesses, and public safety. His approach will include finding common ground across various perspectives and making well informed decisions.

“I make this commitment to you: I will not be out-worked; I will not be deterred by the occasional challenge; and I will not forget the importance of listening to all concerned citizens,” Andres said.

A graduate of Washington State University, Andres moved to Klamath Falls in 1996 to work at The Running Y Ranch Resort, where he became General Manager and Developer, handling a multi-million dollar budget and overseeing as many as 300 employees.  Andres is now Regional Business Manager for Pacific Power where he works with residential, industrial, commercial, and government customers to achieve energy efficiency goals, while also supporting local economic development opportunities.
