NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - Yesterday, interior islands of unburned fuels continued to put up smoke throughout the fire area. Around Tamarack and Garner Mountain, fire was observed moving through understory. Firefighters continue to work and move through the entire fire perimeter, to ensure that the fire containment line is not threatened by any heat sources.

Yesterday, firefighters worked to unwrap an additional four structures and haul that material back in to fire camp. The fire was socked in with smoke yesterday, with most of it being from other fires in the regional area.

Today, fire managers expect to again see smoke over the fire area, as recent temperatures have trended upward. Crews will continue to monitor areas of heat and make sure these sources stay well within containment lines.

Efforts on the fireline suppression repair have progressed in recent days, with 117 miles completed currently. This is approximately 20% of the total repair work needed. These activities include repair work to hand lines, dozerlines, trail and road repair. The goal of the work is to minimize soil erosion, minimize sediment delivery to local streams and restore conditions to as they were before the fire.

Weather
Weather conditions today will be similar to yesterday, with both winds and relative humidity levels increasing slightly. Monday’s weather will bring increasing southwest winds and humidity levels increasing significantly higher. There is approximately a 40% chance of a wetting rain of 0.25” over the fire area Monday evening into Tuesday afternoon.
