Bonanza Ambulance receives award and $3000 donation

BONANZA, Ore. - Bonanza Ambulance Service (BAS) has been honored with the COUNTRY Financial Operation Helping Heros award. Financial representative Gary Cheyne recognized the department with the award and presented a $3,000 donation last month.

BAS is a volunteer agency serving the communities of Bonanza, Beatty, Bly, Sprague River, and the surrounding areas. BAS operates solely on donations, grants, and fees for services. The donation will be used to assist with much needed equipment and supplies.

“I’m happy to have the ability to give back to Bonanza Ambulance and its hardworking volunteers who are true heroes,” said Gary Cheyne. “The services they provide are critical to our community and we are lucky to have them.”

A program from COUNTRY Financial called Operation Helping Heros helped make this happen. Through the program, COUNTRY Financial representatives can identify heroes in their communities and do something personally to give back.

COUNTRY Financial has donated more than $5 million since 2020 to organizations and programs that support teachers, first responders, active-duty service members, and veterans, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.” The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support non-profit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Later, the program expanded to include first responders and teachers.
