KLAMATH FALLS - Due to unforeseen circumstances, the public open house that was planned for the OR 140: Brett Way Extension Project has been postponed until further notice.

The open house was scheduled to take place, February 28th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brixner Junior High School. The public will be notified when another date for the open house is selected. ODOT apologizes for the inconvenience.

The Brett Way Extension Project is looking at ways to reduce safety concerns at the intersection of Summers Lake and the South Side Bypass. Between January 1, 2002 and April 30, 2011 there have been 24 crashes, 28 injuries and 1 fatality at the intersection.

Improvements are also needed at the intersection of Homedale Road and the Southside Expressway. This intersection has a high crash rate and with planned extension of Brett Way will see increases in traffic volumes further compounding safety issues. Improvements are necessary to address these safety issues and aid in the overall functionality of the transportation system.
