City Manager announces resignation

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The City of Klamath Falls announced the resignation of City Manager Nathan Cherpeski, effective June 25, 2021, as he has accepted a position as City Manager in another community.

Mr. Cherpeski has been the Klamath Falls City Manager since January 2013.

During his tenure with the City, Mr. Cherpeski was tasked with reinvesting City funds into the City’s facilities and infrastructure. He has been instrumental in growing and improving Council’s Vision and Mission and in facilitating partnerships to boost economic development in our community.

Mr. Cherpeski noted the support he has received from the community during his time with the City: “My family and I are excited for this new opportunity, but we are also sad to leave Klamath Falls. This community has been so welcoming. The Council has been amazing, and I know the community has a bright future. I wish Klamath Falls all the best in the future.”

Cherpeski also thanked the City staff for their assistance facing numerous challenges over the years. “I have an infinite amount of respect for our staff and pride in my role in leading such an outstanding group of public servants. I thank them for their dedication and support.”

Matt Dodson, Council President said, “The City is in a good place and has experienced numerous positive changes under the guidance of Mr. Cherpeski. We thank him for his service and wish him success in his new community. We have a talented and experienced executive group at the City and will lean on their expertise as we search for a replacement that will not only build on past successes, but continue to build a community we all desire to live in.”

Council will begin an extensive, nationwide search for Mr. Cherpeski’s replacement very soon.
