KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The race for Klamath County Commissioner, position 1 is heating up. With just days until the primary on May 17, 2022; all four candidates are strategically campaigning for your vote for the vacated position. Yet one candidate has the service needed in a leader for the county.

“Public service experience is also important in electing a leader,” said Brandon Fowler, candidate for Klamath County Commissioner. “You want someone that has given back to the community, and someone that will continue to do so. For over 15 years, I have volunteered locally with a variety of boards and committees, mostly around public safety. I have also served 4 years on the Klamath County’s Budget Committee; two of those years as the committee chair.”

Fowler is a veteran of the United States Navy and has been a resident of the Klamath Basin for the last 20-years.

It is his belief that business experience in the private sector is vitally important to electing a leader. For the last 25 years, Fowler has successfully led organizations in the private sector. Built organizations from the ground up and has taken struggling organizations and turned them around.

Fowler has done this with publicly traded enterprises like AT&T, and Verizon, as well as small locally owned construction, and project management companies.

“During the four years I served on the county budget committee, we improved investments in public safety after many years of budget cuts,” said Fowler. “This job is not yet complete as the needs of our county continue to change and the threats to our public safety are in a constant state of change.”

Fowler adds, “We must continue the work to improve public safety locally. I have a solid track record of experience and working with people to find creative solutions to any challenges we face. We need to continue the efforts to diversify our economy, but we need to do so in a way that doesn’t abandon our agricultural heritage.”

Fowler currently serves as the Klamath County Emergency Manager and Public Information Officer for the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, where he has been for the last 3 years.

“As the Klamath County Emergency Manager, I have had a front row seat to our local challenges,” states Fowler. “From wildfires to the ongoing drought, our community has been devastated by these issues and other state of emergencies.”

Fowler is driven, and passionate, and believes that he can bring his experience from the private and public sectors to the role of County Commissioner.  He has lived right here in the basin and has served our county for 20-years working on our tough issues.

“I have the support of the majority of the great women and men of law enforcement, fire, and all emergency services,” added Fowler.

“Brandon has been a tireless advocate for improving public safety in Klamath County for many years, said Chris Kaber, Klamath County Sheriff. “He brings vast private sector experience combined with many years of budget and public safety work that is unmatched.
