Klamath Falls, Ore. – Friday December 1 at 7:30PM the John Welsh band will bring cultural infusion to the Ragland stage. With a sound that blends folk rock with high-energy Latin, West African and reggae rhythms, the John Welsh Band win over crowds wherever they perform. A world traveler by nature, John Welsh lived and studied in Mexico and Guatemala where he was heavily influenced by the music, language and culture.  After several years of playing with various bands he and his brother Chris (bass) met Nigerian born Courage Eigbike, who brought his reggae and West African influenced sound to their music. Together they began creating songs with the vision of bringing their world music sound to a mainstream audience. The positive message (performed in English and Spanish) and infectious melodies that characterize their music makes the John Welsh Band appeal to people of all ages and cultures.

John Welsh Band wins over audiences with a high energy show that emphasizes crowd participation, upbeat rhythms and singalong choruses. In 2016 the John Welsh Band took home a Fraser Valley Music Award and were selected as one of Vancouver's "Best Bands of 2016" by influential blog Vanmusic.com  In April 2017 the band released the video for their lead single "Sayulita" on Facebook, filmed in the small Mexican surf town of Sayulita, Mexico. The video went viral and surpassed 1 million views with strong support from Mexico and Southern California. You can listen to their music online www.johnwelshband.com

“When I heard them in concert I was entranced by their indie pop sound   with a great Reggae influence,” said Mark McCrary Executive Director of the Ross Ragland, “They really engaged the audience who was moving to every note.”
