KCC to host campus-wide kick-off event for summer and fall registration

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Klamath Community College invites the public to attend a summer and fall registration kick-off event May 6.

The event is for students and community members of all ages. Attendees can try out a bungee run, play inflatable ski ball, take photos in a photo booth, play lawn games, enjoy food and free drinks, and participate in other fun activities on campus between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The first 100 students to register for summer or fall classes will receive a meal voucher redeemable at food trucks on campus for the event.

“This is an exciting opportunity for students to register early for summer and fall term, as well as to get to know other students, employees, and experience student life activities on campus,” said KCC Vice President of Student Services Allison Bryson. “Our goal is for students who register earlier to have their financial aid package, books and supplies, and involvement in student life or an on-campus job secured prior to the start of the term.”

Event attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about KCC’s new Badger to Owl Connection and 15 to Finish programs, which both aim to help students complete degree programs on time.

Students participating in Badger to Owl can receive tuition waivers for two terms at Oregon Tech, after completing an associate degree at KCC. According to Bryson, Badger to Owl promotes college access, affordability, and bachelor’s degree completion for more students.

Students participating in 15 to Finish, which can be combined with Badger to Owl, can earn three free lecture credits by taking 15 credits or more per term.

“Our incentive programs are designed to get students pursuing an associate degree to the finish line faster and with less debt,” Bryson said. “We encourage any student already taking 12 credits to consider boosting their

enrollment to 15 credits to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Student success representatives will be on hand to register and advise students all day, 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more information about the kick-off event or Badger to Owl, contact a KCC student success representative at 541-880-3521 or visit https://www.klamathcc.edu/home.
