KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Klamath County Public Health (KCPH) officials report 57 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases is now 3,269. There are 21 cases to date this week.

On Saturday, there were 36 new cases assigned to the county. In the week that concluded Saturday, Klamath County had a total of 183 new COVID-19 cases.

A change in statewide metrics allowed Klamath County to move to “high risk” instead of “extreme risk” on Friday. The change now requires 300 or more statewide hospitalizations for any county to move to “extreme”.

Statewide, and Klamath County-specific, metrics now are:

To protect yourself:

  • Keep your distance by maintaining six feet of social or physical distancing between yourself and others.

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, utilizing hand sanitizer when washing facilities are not available.

  • Sanitize surfaces that are often touched.

  • Avoid gatherings of any size where social or physical distancing is not possible.

To protect others around you:

  • Cover coughs and sneezes.

  • Stay home when sick.

  • Wear a clean mask in public spaces, including outdoors when six feet of social distance cannot be maintained.
