The following is a press release from Klamath County Public Health.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – As a vital healthcare leader in the Klamath Basin, Klamath Health Partnership is sharing information to promote both transparency and community awareness during the COVID-19 epidemic.

A Klamath Health Partnership staff member tested positive for COVID-19 today. That staff member supported background efforts at Wednesday’s drive-thru vaccination event. There was no direct patient contact and personal protective equipment was in use throughout the event. KHP’s medical team performed an assessment and determined that risk to event participants is very low.

“It is important to us to be fully transparent to the community members who were served at the event,” said Amanda Blodgett, Chief Operations Officer for KHP. “We are committed to promoting the health and safety for the entire community. Any community members who were served at the event, even if they are not a KHP patient, can schedule a free COVID test at KHP’s main clinic through April 14, 2021.”

Those who would like to schedule testing should call Klamath Open Door at 541-851-8110.

“This an important reminder that COVID is not gone, and we do not yet have herd immunity,” added Dr. Flor Mounts, KHP Medical Director. “Community members should continue the safety practices we have adopted in the past year.  Please remember to wear a mask in public, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer regularly, and get vaccinated to decrease both your risk of getting COVID and your risk of spreading COVID to others.”
