Oregon Tech Hosts Big Conference Games this Weekend
/KLAMATH FALLS, Ore - The Lady and Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech will host Corban University and Northwest Christian University this weekend in Cascade Conference games with the women starting at 5:30 pm and the men to follow at 7:30 pm both Friday and Saturday.
Lady Owls
On Friday, the Owls who are 4-3 in CCC play and 10-7 overall, will host Corban as the Warriors have opened up conference play at 5-2 and 11-6 overall and sit in third place in the CCC Standings with Lady Owls in 5th. This is the 37th meeting between Corban University and Oregon Tech. The Lady Owls lead the all-time series 25-11. The Warriors have won five in a row since CCC-opening losses to College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon and are 6-3 on the road this season. Jordan Woodvine, a Boise State transfer in her second year at Corban, is averaging a league-best 23.1 points in CCC play and Emily Yost is adding 15.

Saturday will be the 24th meeting between Northwest Christian and the Lady Owls. OIT holds a 16-7 all-time series lead over the Beacons. Northwest Christian swept the season series last year and have won three of the last four match-ups.

Hustlin’ Owls
Oregon Tech men's basketball is currently ranked 14th in the nation, and is currently on an eight game win streak as the Owls are currently tied with No. 2 ranked College of Idaho for first place in the CCC at 6-1. OIT is now 7-0 at Danny Miles Court this year.
The Owls will welcome Corban on Friday as the Warriors are 3-4 in conference play and 12-5 overall. the 96th meeting between the Warriors and the Hustlin' Owls on the hardwoods where Tech holds a 66-29 advantage in the all-time series. The Warriors have won three of the last four meeting including a sweep of the regular season last year before the Owls won 65-63 in Klamath Falls in the CCC-Quarterfinal on February 21st. The Warriors are operating under another first-year coach, Mitch Freeman, who was previously at Peninsula College (Wash.). They're coming off a big home weekend that included wins over Warner Pacific (89-80) and Multnomah (97-67).
Senior Joel Johnson is again one of the steadiest big men in the CCC, posting 14.3 points on 71-percent shooting and six rebounds a night. He and Beau Roggenbach (13.0 points, 11.6 rebounds) form a solid frontcourt, and the rest of the Warriors are hitting at 38 percent from 3.

Saturday marks the 58th time Northwest Christian and Oregon Tech have met on the hardwood. The Hustlin' Owls lead the all-time series 44-13. The two teams split the regular season last year with Beacons winning in overtime 123-121 in Eugene and the Owls winning 99-89 on Danny Miles court. After going 9-11 in the CCC last year, the Beacons have been the surprise team of the first half of conference play under first-year head coach Eddie Alexander, who replaced Luke Jackson. They'd won nine of 10 before last Saturday's home loss to Warner Pacific and are currently the only team in the CCC to knock off No.2 College of Idaho.
