KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Firefighters from Klamath County Fire District #1 and Kingsley Fire, along with Cadets from the Klamath Community College Fire Academy had real-life fire training today south of Klamath Falls.

A burn-to-learn exercise was conducted off Laverne Avenue. An abandoned building was prepped for live-fire training. Instructors were able to conduct scenarios where cadets and firefighters alike could practice in real-world situations in and around the structure.

The live training provides firefighters with valuable fire control techniques and is the best type of training available to prepare firefighters for an actual fire emergency.

In the end, due to the damage conducted from the training scenarios the building was burned in a controlled manner of controlled demolition. Allowing cadets and firefighters to better understand and witness the science of structural fire behavior first hand.

Klamath Falls News was present for the training operation and captured the following photos from the event.
