Positive case of COVID-19 reported at Crater Lake Junction Travel Center

CHILOQUIN, Ore. - Over the weekend The Klamath Tribes made an announcement regarding a person with a positive COVID-19 test had visited the Crater Lake Junction Travel Center adjacent to KlaMoYa Casino on Friday, September 4, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, the Klamath Tribes Incident Management Team closed the travel center for deep cleaning and sanitation.

The travel center reopened the following day after the sanitization was complete.

Klamath County Public Health has been notified of the incident and will be conducting contact tracing.

Officials ask if you have visited the travel center on Friday, September 4, 2020 to please monitor your conditions for the next two-weeks for any COVID-19 symptoms.

Symptoms include:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

In a written statement by The Klamath Tribes they state:
”The Klamath Tribes encourages everyone to remain vigilant and continue to use a face covering/mask, good hand hygiene and maintain physical distancing, especially when in locations where others aren’t heeding the danger.”
