Residents of North Lake county will soon be served by Klamath Community College instead of the distant Central Oregon Community College. HB 2089 passed in the House chamber today, carried by Representative Reschke. The bill is effective upon passage.

“I am in favor of expanding the northern boundary that Klamath Community College serves in Lake County, for the simple reason that I know how capable and effective KCC has been in its efforts to reach out to communities that are not necessarily located just around the corner from its local campus. This is a win for the students and for everyone involved,” said Rep. Reschke.

Next, HB 2089 is headed to the State Senate and upon approval to the Governor’s office for her signature.
