Shots fired in Chiloquin, Klamath Falls woman arrested

The following is a press release from the Klamath County Sheriff Office.

CHILOQUIN, Ore. - On March 31, 2021, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Lalo Avenue in Chiloquin, Oregon for a report of a disturbance. An altercation involving multiple parties and multiple vehicles had escalated to a shot being fired in the area.

Several KCSO deputies with assistance from Troopers from Oregon State Police arrived and secured the area and found there were no injuries.

The resulting investigation found that Ashley Marie Smith, of Klamath Falls, discharged a firearm at another individual as they drove away.

Smith is being lodged at the Klamath County Jail on charges including:

  • Attempted Assault I

  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

  • Reckless Endangering

  • Theft I

  • Parole Violation
