KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The keynote speaker for Klamath Community College’s 2022 commencement ceremony will be David Cauble, chief executive officer for Sky Lakes Medical Center.

Slated for 6 p.m. Friday, June 10, this year’s ceremony marks the return to an in-person full-scale outdoor ceremony for the first time since 2019. During the previous two years, to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions, graduation ceremonies were presented as hybrid virtual and limited in-person events. This year’s ceremony will also be livestreamed on the KCC YouTube channel.

Cauble was named CEO of Sky Lakes in January, previously serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry, including administrative roles with St. Vincent’s Health System in Birmingham, Ala., Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Ga., Trover Health System in Kentucky, and CarolinaEast Health System in North Carolina.

Cauble holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisville and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. He and his wife, Shelly, have four children.

Sky Lakes Medical Center, a community-owned acute-care hospital, was the 2021 recipient of the American Hospital Association’s Rural Hospital Leadership Award, which recognizes the hospital’s leadership role and responsiveness to the community’s health needs. Sky Lakes offers inpatient and outpatient services, a home health agency, primary care clinics and a variety of specialty physician clinics.

KCC’s commencement will feature several speakers in addition to Cauble, spotlight individual student achievements and academic honors, and include a reception for graduates and their invited guests. Barring inclement weather, ceremonies will be outside on the KCC main lawn adjacent to Founders Hall.

Additional graduation ceremonies for GED, TRiO and high school pathway graduates will be held on upcoming dates.
