Sky Lakes hosts COVID-19 vaccination days

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore .- Sky Lakes Medical Center will provide Klamath County residents 70 or older no-charge COVID-19 vaccinations 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Thursday, February 25, and Friday, February 26, on the fourth floor in the original medical center.

The first-dose vaccinations are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling 1-833-606-4370 beginning at 8:00 AM Wednesday; no walk-in slots or on-site appointments are available. The call center is open weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

“Sky Lakes Medical Center will be scheduling appointments tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 24, for vaccination clinics to be held in the coming days,” said Valeree Lane, Klamath County Public Health PIO. “Those 70 years old and older may be served on Thursday and Friday this week, with those qualifying under Phases 1-A and 1-B, group 1 set for service Monday”

Also, educators and staff, childcare providers, first responders, and healthcare workers will be able to get COVID-19 first-dose shots on March 1 at the vaccination clinic on the medical center’s fourth floor. The hours will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Those vaccinations also require an appointment by way of the call center.

“Appointments must be scheduled and may be obtained by calling 1-833-606-4370 beginning 8 a.m. Wednesday.  Sky Lakes will continue making appointments throughout the week until it is out of doses,” added Lane.

Individuals who are 70 and older are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations, and those 65 and older become eligible on February 28, according to the Oregon Health Authority’s phased distribution of COVID-19 vaccines
