The 173rd Fighter Wing recently promoted an Airman who has risen through the ranks to become the new operations group commander. Lt. Col. Oregon Air Guard Units will transition to F-15EX aircraft [UPDATED]

SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Air National Guard received news Friday from the Secretary of the Air Force regarding the Air Force’s plans to replace the Oregon Air National Guard’s aging F-15C/D Eagles at both Oregon wings with the newly updated F-15EX model. Kingsley Field, Oregon in Klamath Falls, is scheduled to transition to the Air Force’s first F-15EX formal training mission beginning in 2022, and the Portland Air National Guard Base is scheduled to become the first operational F-15EX squadron in 2023.

Oregon Air National Guard Welcomes New Commander

SALEM, Oregon - Brig. Gen. James R. Kriesel relinquished command of the Oregon Air National Guard and Brig. Gen. Donna M. Prigmore assumed command in a change of command ceremony, January 5, 2019, at the Anderson Readiness Center in Salem, Oregon. Kriesel is scheduled to deploy in support of joint operations in Africa. Prigmore is now the first woman to command the Oregon National Guard's Air Component.
