19th Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Craig D. Wills visits Kingsley Field

The new 19th Air Force Commander visited the 173rd Fighter Wing to see firsthand the operations at the schoolhouse providing all of the F-15C air superiority training to the U.S. Air Force, Sept. 10, 2019.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Craig Wills assumed his command June 13 and prioritized making a visit to the rural, southern Oregon base.

“It’s important to get out and see what is going on at our different flying training locations,” said Wills. “That’s why I made it a priority to come out here.”

KINGSLEY FIELD, Ore. - A recently vacated building is poised to become a valuable resource for the 173rd Fighter Wing and even the Air Force at large. Senior Master Sgt. Nate Morehouse explains that the extra space will allow three different shops to repair aircraft parts needed for the local fleet, as well as the entire F-15C fleet and even other U.S. Air Force airframes.

The 173rd Fighter Wing inducted two local civic leaders into the Hometown Heroes program Jan. 3, 2018 with a flight in the backseat of an F-15 Eagle at Kingsley Field, Oregon.

The Klamath Falls Police Department officer of the year, Beads Yahwhee, and Oregon Institute of Technology adjunct professor and veterans advocate, A.J. Davila, were both selected as the first participants in this program.
