Opponents of recycled water project raise concerns over wastewater

The South Suburban Sanitary District has announced the proposal of a wastewater storage facility near homes and farms surrounding the Reeder Road area of Klamath Falls. SSSD is proposing to use this area for holding reservoirs for Class D recycled water, and use the recycled water to irrigate 550 acres of nearby farmland.

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Fire crews are currently reporting the Stukel Fire at 750 acres, and will continue to build and reinforce line on the fire today. The fire remains active.

South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership resources are on scene working to stop the spread of the Stukel Fire approximately 4 miles southwest of Olene, OR.
The fire was reported this afternoon and is primarily burning on Bureau of Land Management (Klamath Falls Resource Area) protected land, and some private. It is burning in grass and brush in fairly steep terrain on Stukel Mountain and is visible from Klamath Falls and surrounding areas.
