Catch a Wave Brings Sunny Surf Memories to the RRT
/Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Ross Ragland Theater invites you to go on a “Surfin Safari” this Friday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. with Catch a Wave, a Beach Boys Tribute.
The show features four incredibly talented vocalists who painstakingly recreate the surf-pop sound of California circa the 1960’s. According to the band, the exact striped shirts, white instruments and wavy hair combined with the harmonic blend of voices are so realistic you’ll be able to practically smell the salt-air of the beach!
“We’re really excited to kick off both the 2017-18 season for the Ross Ragland and the second annual Arts on the Flyway festival with this amazing tribute group,” says interim executive director, Mark McCrary, “they’re really very good musicians and performers.”
Indeed, Catch a Wave has performed all over the world as the famous Beach Boys, including being a regular featured act at Disney’s California Adventure. Additionally, they are the only Beach Boys tribute group to have been invited to perform for the surviving band members and their families.
The original Beach Boys are widely considered to be one of the most influential acts of the rock era. The group pioneered novel approaches to popular music form, combining jazz-based vocal groups, 1950s rock and roll and R&B to create their unique sound. The group had over eighty songs chart worldwide, thirty-six of them US Top 40 hits (the most by an American rock band) and four reaching number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They also sold in excess of 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time.
