Three Lady Owls Receive CCC Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Three Oregon Tech Lady Owls received Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) 2018-19 Women's Basketball All-Conference recognition on Tuesday morning, as the conference's top performers were announced for the winter season.

Tech's Nohea Waiwaiole (SR. -  Portland, Ore.) was named to the CCC All-Conference team while Bailey Nelson (SR. - Firth, Idaho) and Abby Kreiser (SO. – Boise, Idaho) picked up All-CCC Honorable Mention.

Waiwaiole is currently seventh on OIT's career point list with 1,159, fourth in rebounds 696, just one rebound behind Nikki McElligott (2003-05) for third, and is second all-time in assists with 401 just 8-aasists behind Sino Alcano (1983-87). Nelson is also in Tech's all-time top 10 at No.8 with 520 rebounds and is in the Top 15 with 878 career points. Kreiser, a sophomore is already 9th on Tech's all-time steals list with 58.  

It's the third-straight Coach of the Year honor for Anji Weissenfluh, who led Eastern Oregon to a near-perfect CCC regular-season (19-1) and a 25-3 record overall. The Mountaineers were ranked in the top-25 of the NAIA Coaches' Poll throughout the 2018-19 season, reaching as high as No. 9 in the rankings. In addition to the squad's regular-season dominance, which granted the Mountaineers the conference's first automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament, Eastern Oregon also reached the CCC Tournament title game for the third-consecutive year.
