Trees and drought topic of presentation

The following is a press release from the Klamath District Garden Clubs.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Selecting trees that can withstand the effects of drought will be the subject of a presentation at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, during a meeting of the Klamath District Garden Clubs.

The meeting will be held in the back room of the Klamath County Museum, 1451 Main St. The presentation is open to the public.

John Bellon, urban forester and community relations manager for Klamath Falls city parks, will be the speaker.

“It seems clear that with the trend toward hotter and drier summers, plus concerns about domestic wells and water supplies overall, we need to be adapting our landscape plans,” said Vickie Liskey, president of Klamath  District Garden Clubs. “We look forward to hearing John’s suggestions for making the necessary changes.”

The Garden Club District’s business meeting will precede the program at 10 a.m.
