CHILOQUIN, Ore. - Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services Wellness Center in Chiloquin has had a recent jump in COVID-19 testing this week. This has resulted in 21 new positive tests out of 120 people tested.

This increase shows a 17.5% positive rate.

Over the past 5 months, Klamath Tribal Health has had 24 positive cases and in the past 3 days, that has increased to 45 cases as of 1:00 PM 09/17/2020.

The current positive numbers show increased COVID-19 spread within the Chiloquin community.

Thus, we must remain vigilant as COVID-19 is spreading in our community. In order to continue to protect yourself and family, know and practice all the COVID-19 safety precautions that are already set in place:

  1. Limit your attendance at any gathering larger than 10 people,

  2. Wear face coverings over your nose and mouth,

  3. Physically distance yourself at least six feet away from others,

  4. Do not touch your face with unclean hands, and

  5. Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, and if soap and water are not available,

  6. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Also, kindly take precautions around elders, vulnerable, and at-risk populations to prevent compromising their health with COVID-19 infection.

Finally, monitor yourself for any COVID-19 symptoms:

  1. Fever or chills

  2. Cough

  3. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  4. Fatigue

  5. Muscle or body aches

  6. Headache

  7. New loss of taste or smell

  8. Sore throat

  9. Congestion or runny nose

  10. Nausea or vomiting

  11. Diarrhea If you develop any of these symptoms, please call your provider/caregiver for guidance.
