KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Klamath County has established an Economic Development Grant Program to assist county businesses in promoting the local economy in Klamath County. Economic grants are for regional businesses looking for startup or expansion funds in Klamath County.

The Board of County Commissioners looks for projects that offer the potential to create and retain jobs as well as enhance a business’s ability to develop, expand and bring economic growth to the area.  Projects should identify a target market and offer a specific strategy for reaching this market. Funding for Economic Development Grant Program comes from the Oregon State Lottery Fund.

Grant applications are reviewed and recommendations made by the seven-member advisory committee appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The advisory committee recommends applications and funding levels to the Board of Commissioners who will then make the final decision for awarding funds.

The grant application cycle is open from September 1 to September 30, 2020. All applicants must attend a grant orientation meeting on September 11, 2020, from 2-3 p.m. in room 214 at the Klamath County Government Center, and submit a complete application no later than September 30, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. The Economic Development Advisory Committee will be reviewing the applications and making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners following that submission deadline.

Information regarding the grant program is available on the county website http://www.klamathcounty.org/207/Economic-Development-Grant-Program
