KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Wilsonart announces the appointment of Rebecca Armstrong as plant manager of its new facility in Klamath Falls, Ore. In this role, Armstrong will oversee plant operations including production of Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) and ensuring the operation meets or exceeds safety, quality, customer and cost requirements.

An Oregonian, Armstrong brings to Wilsonart four years of strategy development and management experience. Most recently, she served as continuous improvement manager at Columbia Forest Products, where she oversaw all things related to problem solving, visual controls, standardization of processes and programs, and team building for the Klamath Falls branch of North America's largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products.

“We are pleased to welcome Rebecca to our Klamath Falls plant leadership team,” said Scott Siracusa, general manager, Wilsonart. “Her industry knowledge and proven management skills make her an excellent fit to lead the facility in its efforts to increase Wilsonart’s TFL capacity and footprint in North America. And, we were thrilled to find her within the very community we now call home.”

Born and raised just 25 miles east of Klamath Falls, Armstrong graduated from Bonanza High School. She went on to attend Oregon State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in renewable materials and forestry with a minor in business and leadership.

“This is an excellent opportunity to utilize my skills and experience to help Wilsonart meet growing category demand and better serve its customers,” said Armstrong. "I am excited to be part of a company that has embraced and is committed to the success of the Klamath Falls community.”

With the assistance of the Klamath County Economic Development Association (KCEDA), Wilsonart has worked to ensure the seamless integration of the new facility into the community as a supportive and positive addition, including the use of local contractors and the recruitment of local talent for approximately 50 new jobs.

“Our organization has enjoyed working with the team at Wilsonart from the very beginning and we are pleased to see that they are investing in the local talent pool to ensure the success of their Klamath Falls operations,” said Randy Cox, CEO, KCEDA. “We look forward to a continued partnership and welcome Rebecca to her new role, where we know she will excel.”

The new Wilsonart plant is expected to become fully operational in July 2021. For more information on Wilsonart, visit Wilsonart.com.
