MEDFORD, Ore - After a long stretch of dry and warm weather, we’ll be reminded later tonight through the weekend that winter isn’t over yet! A cold front will make it’s way through the area overnight, bringing a cold air mass with it.

Snow levels will quickly drop with this front, lowering down to 2000 ft overnight.

The greatest snow amounts are expected above 5000 ft where 3 to 5 inches are possible through Saturday morning. Between 2500 ft and 5000 ft 1 to 3 inches are expected with up to an inch possible between 2000 ft and 2500 ft.

National Weather Service, Medford

It’s possible for snow levels to dip down to 1500 ft at times during heavy precipitation, so the west side valleys may see periods of snow. However, no accumulation is expected due to recent warm temperatures keeping surfaces above freezing.

The greatest accumulations are expected between midnight and 8 am Saturday. Be prepared for wet and wintry travel if venturing out tonight through Saturday morning. Be sure to check road conditions!
