Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Southwest Oregon Including Southern Cascades [uPDATED]

The cold wet weather isn’t over!

Another system will move in from the north, bringing colder air and more precipitation. Snow is expected at lower elevations with the greatest amounts (and confidence) above 2000 feet.

If you have travel plans Tuesday night and Wednesday, be prepared for wintry travel and stay tuned to the forecast for updates. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 pm Tuesday through 10 pm Wednesday.

Winter Weather Advisory (CASCADES)

Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches expected. West winds gusting to 25 to 35 mph over exposed higher terrain.

Travel could be very difficult. Near white out conditions are possible in exposed areas where strong winds are possible.

LOCATION
South Central and Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. This includes Union Creek, Diamond Lake, Crater Lake and Lake of the Woods. This also includes Highways 62, 230, 138, 140, higher portions of Highway 66, and the Mount Ashland Ski Road.

WHEN
From 7 PM Tuesday to 10 PM PST Wednesday.

Winter Weather Advisory (KLAMATH BASIN)

Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches expected. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Travel could be very difficult. Visibilities will be reduced by blowing snow in exposed areas where winds are strong.

LOCATION
Portions of the Klamath Basin including Highway 97 from Modoc Point through Crescent, portions of Highway 140 east of Bly and east of Lakeview.

Northern and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County - Central and Eastern Lake County. Including the cities of Chemult, Crescent, and Gilchrist

WHEN
From 7 PM Tuesday to 10 PM PST Wednesday.
