Burglary investigation leads to recovered items and grow bust

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. - On Monday, June 21, 2021, a search warrant was executed at a remote location within Klamath Forest Estates in Sprague River. An investigation by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office developed probable cause, that a substantial amount of recently stolen property, from several recent burglaries, would be present.

The areas of Sprague River, Chiloquin, and Bonanza have experienced a rash of burglaries recently, prompting the investigation.

Additionally, the investigated property was being used as an illegal marijuana grow with a significant amount of plants and infrastructure in place.

The search was able to recover approximately 90% of the tools and personal effects from two recent burglaries, three firearms. Over six thousand marijuana plants, multiple generators, pumps, augers, and other implements used to operate the grow site were also recovered.

Timothy Aaron Hicks and Kyla Diane Belcher were arrested and charged with Burglary I, Theft I, UUMV in connection to the recovered property.

In law enforcement success requires teamwork and we are fortunate to have teammates who are so willing to help out,” said the KCSO in a press release.
