The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the Klamath Basin and Fremont-Winema National Fores, which is in effect Thursday afternoon.

An unusually warm and dry pattern this afternoon and Wednesday will become even warmer and drier Thursday into the weekend.

Expect occasionally gusty north to northwest winds this afternoon and evening and again Wednesday afternoon. Offshore east-northeast winds will peak Wednesday night through Thursday night, with humidity recovery likely at its worst both Thursday and Friday nights.

Marine air will move back into the coast this weekend, but it will remain very warm inland. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms early next week.

Impacts: Gusty northeast winds, low humidity, and dry fuels will likely contribute to a significant spread of any new or existing fires.

Affected area: Northern Fire weather zone 624

Counties affected: Northern Klamath County from Chiloquin
northward.

Wind: Northeast 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Humidity: 13 to 17 percent
