KCSO Accepts two grants

The following is a press release from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -  On Thursday, November 3, 2022, Sheriff Chris Kaber and Captain Brian Bryson accepted grant funds from The Klamath Community Foundation in partnership with the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust.

The first grant is in the amount of $2,000 and will toward Klamath County Search and Rescue (SAR) for additional equipment to support the mission.

The great SAR volunteers are deployed on an average of 85 missions per year. SAR is overseen by Captain Bryson oversees the SAR team for Klamath County. 

The second grant from The Klamath Community Foundation in partnership with the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust was accepted by Sheriff Chris Kaber and Emergency Manager Brandon Fowler. This grant in the amount of $3,258 goes to Klamath County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) for upgraded communications equipment to help support emergency communications during disasters.

Emergency Manager Brandon Fowler oversees the ARES team for Klamath County. 

Sheriff Chris Kaber states, “Klamath County Sheriff’s Office oversees several diverse volunteer programs that support a variety of missions that help our community. We’re extremely thankful for the wonderful people that give their time to support our community and we thank The Klamath Community Foundation in partnership with the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust for their generous donations to these volunteer organizations.” 

On hand to present the funds were Klamath Community Foundation Gifting Committee Chair and Board Member Don Boyd Sr. and Board Member Robert Kingzett.
