Kaber has been the Klamath County Sheriff since January 3, 2017. SHERIFF: Beaumont Arrested on Elude and Warrant [UPDATED]

On 10/23/18 at approximately 4:00pm, attempts to arrest Nickolas Beaumont on outstanding felony warrants led to a pursuit in the area south of Merrill and Malin, Oregon and at times into northern California in the Tulelake area. Nickolas Beaumont had a history of fleeing police and on this date he tried again. After a pursuit lasting approximately “30” minutes he was taken into custody hiding in an apartment in Malin, Oregon after crashing the pickup he was driving into the side of a brick structure.

[UPDATE] On Friday June 1st, 2018 at approximately 10:30 PM investigators with the Klamath County Major Crime Team were informed that Julie Hardt has been pronounced deceased. Julie Hardt had succumbed to her injuries suffered at her residence during the assault yesterday afternoon. Cheney Hardt was arrested at the scene and lodged.

On 05/31/18, a suspect was identified in a recent burglary and theft from the Eternal Hills Cemetery. Delbert Gavin was arrested by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office for the crimes of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle (backhoe), Burglary 2nd Degree, and Aggravated Theft 1st Degree (additional tools). It is alleged he took these items on or about Mother’s Day (May 13th). The backhoe has been recovered.

Two Men Charged on Multiple Counts After Home Invasion in Bly

On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, Klamath County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 19549 Main Avenue in Bly, OR for a reported burglary and menacing that occurred at approximately 0535 hours.  The victim identified the suspects as Charles ASKEW and Jeffrey JOHNSON. ASKEW and JOHNSON allegedly forced entry into the home, sprayed mace into one of the bedrooms, and as they were leaving were confronted by the victim. The victim had a pistol pointed at her by one of the suspects. Both suspects then left in a white Cadillac sedan.
