Just before 8am this morning, the Klamath Falls Police Department (KFPD) was investigating an abandoned vehicle stolen from their jurisdiction several days earlier. That stolen vehicle was found stuck near the Balsam Drive Gravel Pit.

Upon arrival in the area a KFPD officer observed two males running from a Chevrolet Suburban stolen last night from the South Suburban area with the key left in the ignition. The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) responded to the area and a multi-agency hunt for the two suspects began. A combination of “7” deputies and officers worked cooperatively to chase down and apprehend the two subjects after chasing them for more than a mile as the two suspects ran in circles in an attempt to evade capture. They were both taken into custody after becoming separated from each other.

Arrested and lodged at the Klamath County Juvenile Department for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle and Attempting to Elude on Foot was a 16 year old male (name withheld.)

Also arrested and lodged at the Klamath County Detention Center for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle and Attempting to Elude on Foot was Anthony Glass, who is 20 years of age.

Of special note was the cooperation of area citizens who aided the deputies and police officers by offering access to their property and the use of an ATV to help capture of the suspects.

“Klamath County has great citizens. Thank you.”
