KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Board of Klamath County Commissioners and the Klamath County Sheriff voice concerns over new state COVID-19 regulations and the 2-week “freeze” stating it will be too much for already struggling businesses to bear.

One suspect was developed during the initial investigation and deputies began a search for Tylor McMahan for questioning in the crime.

The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office investigated the report and determined a forced entry had occurred, many valuable electronic items, tools, keys, and two vehicles were taken during the burglary.

When officer’s arrived, the adult son of the assault victim retreated into a nearby building and refused to cooperate with the investigation. Deputies were able to contact a mental health crisis counselor who responded to the residence.

On Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at about 11:00 pm, the resident contacted Klamath 911 and advised dispatchers that the GPS-armed decoy package had been taken and was transmitting its whereabouts as it traveled towards Klamath Falls. Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was subsequently confirmed to be in possession of the stolen package.

Nickolas Beaumont had a history of fleeing police and on this date he tried again. After a pursuit lasting approximately “30” minutes he was taken into custody hiding in an apartment in Malin, Oregon after crashing the pickup he was driving into the side of a brick structure.

Initial reports indicted two boys had been seriously injured in a fall from a peak near the lake and rescue efforts were underway.

On Tuesday (10/02/18) members of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office contacted a residence at 31146 Mountain Lakes Drive, Rocky Point, OR. A tip had been received of a possible illegal marijuana grow operation.

On Wednesday (09/26/18) members of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 24960 Paradise Road, Midland, OR after developing information that an illegal grow site existed on that property. This property is very close to the California border.

Continuing complaints from citizens have led Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies to investigate more illegal marijuana grow operations. On September 28, 2018 deputies served search warrants on two such operations. Both locations were growing substantially more marijuana plants than legally permitted under current Oregon recreational or medical marijuana laws.

On 9-20-18 (Thursday) the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation at 17350 Patricia Lane which is north of Merrill, OR. Identified in the investigation were Jared Burger (35 years of age) and Audrey Roe (37 years of age) who were suspected of growing marijuana illegally. The two were charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance-Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana and cited to appear in court on October 22, 2018. There were no medical marijuana cards associated with the residence and per Oregon law “4” plants per household are allowed; “526” plants were seized and destroyed.
