SHERIFF: Illegal Marijuana Disruption Effort – Search Warrant

On Wednesday (09/26/18) members of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 24960 Paradise Road, Midland, OR after developing information that an illegal grow site existed on that property. This property is very close to the California border.

The residence was allowed by Oregon law to have “4” plants for recreational marijuana use. Deputies arrived on scene and detained five (5) individuals who were found to be cultivating “500” marijuana plants. “496” plants were seized, sampled for evidence purposes, and destroyed. Multiple tubs of dried and processed marijuana were also seized as well as one unlawful firearm.

The residence was left with the “4” plants allowed. The seized marijuana weighed more than 2,000 pounds.    

The following individuals were charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance – Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.

Scordel, Robert Leslie (50 years of age)
Also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

Smith, Levi Daniel (37 years of age)

Lyon, Neil Patrick (50 years of age)

Reese, Kristie Marie (40 years of age)

Pena, Juan Jose Pedroza (39 years of age)
