KCSO: Medford man arrested after pursuit

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - On Friday, December 2, 2022, at approximately 1:00 PM Deputies from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 block of Sharp Road in Midland, Ore. - on a report of an individual making threats with a handgun while wearing a bulletproof vest.

The individual left the scene prior to deputies arriving. However, the reporting party thought the suspect may be headed to an address in Medford, Oregon.

Deputies then responded to Oregon Highway 140 west in an effort to locate the subject vehicle.

Several minutes later, the reporting party called back and said the individual had returned to the Sharp Road address. While returning to the Sharp Road location, Deputies were able to pick the vehicle in pursuit northbound on US97.

Deputies continued pursuit onto ORE140 west while being assisted by Oregon State Police and the Klamath Falls Police Department.

Spike strips were deployed on ORE140 west near Ridgewater and successfully stopped the vehicle safely. The vehicle came to a stop on the side of the road and the individual was taken into custody without further incident.

Law Enforcement pursued the vehicle for 12.7 miles. During the pursuit, a firearm was thrown out the window. The firearm was later recovered.

Parker Joseph Latham, 30, of Medford, OR, was arrested and lodged at the Klamath County Jail on the following initial charges:

  • Felon in Possession of Body Armor

  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm

  • Unlawful use of a Weapon

  • Pointing a Firearm at Another

  • Menacing

  • Burglary I

  • Felony Attempt to Elude

  • Reckless Driving

  • Recklessly Endangering
