The following is a press release from the Klamath Falls Police Department.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - On February 6, 2022, the Klamath Falls Police Department served a search warrant on a residence in the 5500 block of Gatewood Drive. The operation was a part of the ongoing investigation of a drive-by shooting that occurred on January 22nd and a separate shooting incident that occurred on February 1st.

Nobody was harmed during these events, however, there appeared to be intent to cause serious physical injury or death.

During the course of the investigation, officers developed probable cause that occupants of the residence were involved in the theft of firearms and the unlawful transfer of firearms to convicted felons, who are well known to the law enforcement community to commit violent crimes. Investigators also developed suspicion the residents were involved in a shooting that occurred on February 1st, where a male subject was chased in his vehicle and shot at multiple times.

During the warrant service three subjects were taken into custody without incident.

All three subjects taken into custody were convicted felons and on Probation or Parole.

During a search of the residence, officers discovered several firearms including an AR-15 and three semi-automatic pistols as well as multiple loaded magazines. Officers also recovered dealer amounts of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, packaging material and scales consistent with the delivery of narcotics, and an operable butane honey oil lab, commonly referred to as a BHO Lab.

During the investigation, officers were able to develop probable cause for the arrest of two of the occupants of the house for the shooting that occurred on February 1st. The two subjects responsible for the shooting, Jonathan Mitchell Tune (DOB 10/22/1987) and Mekala Jade Rawlins (DOB 07/30/1994), both from Klamath Falls; were booked and lodged at the Klamath County Jail for Attempted Murder, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Reckless Endangering, Obliteration or Change of Identification Numbers on Firearms and Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm.
